bio
Jimmy Haney (born March 14, 2000) is an American rock musician from Cincinnati, Ohio. He is best known for his versatility and skills across different instruments and genres. In 2024, Haney made his solo debut with the studio album Poor Boy for which he played all the instruments and sang all vocal elements.
Jimmy Haney was born to Jonathan Curtis Haney and Jacqueline Lynn Reid in Middletown, Ohio. In middle school, Haney was given a Cort B2 bass by his father, on which he learned the fundamentals of music and ear training. By high school he was proficient in bass, drums, guitar, piano, and singing and was the drummer in a local band. The band broke up in 2019, and after a five-year hiatus, Haney began production on his solo career: A collection of songs written over those five years.
Jimmy's first album was a monstrous mix of tunes ranging from folky, acoustic numbers to heavy, dazed, alternative tunes, all the way to a piano ballad to close it out. His newer work features an array of slow piano and keyboard rockers to emotionally teeming guitar tracks while still maintaining a few acoustic indie tunes that the fans of the first album came to love. He is a flamboyant, track-suit loving musician and friend whose lyrics are at times deeply introspective yet other times fun and catchy.
